Welcome Back! A lot has happened since I last blogged. While teaching kindergarten here last year the Lord allowed Scott to cross my path. The first "official" time I met him was at our school's Christmas Program. He sister attends our school and his father is a pastor in the area.We then became friends on FB and would exchange messages from time to time.He would also stop by the school to see me. In February Scott asked me what my standards and convictions were concerning courting/dating. I had not ever dated/courted anyone before! What to do...what to do??
So, I told my pastor about it and he said that in order for me to start a relationship (in addition to praying about it) with this man that he needed to come and talk to him. So, after pastor talked with Scott and gave his blessing, we started "Dorting" on February 9th 2012. I had prayed about what to tell Scott concerning my convictions and standards during dating. So,I sought wise counsel and got some Biblical advice from some godly men and women.I shared with Scott my main three convictions during the courting stage: First of all, no physical touch, no hugging or holding hands. In addition to no physical touch was not being alone with him. Some asked why are you doing that? I wanted to live above reproach! Sure, if we wanted to talk we could be in a public place, like at his parents, outside for people to see. We were not ever in a secluded, spot together. Finally, not riding alone with him was also one. We always had someone come with. I will never regret those 3 standards we shared! It is so very important to make sure you set your bar very high!!    In addition to writing FB messages our plan was to see each other once a week. How do you get to know someone? By spending time with them! So, we planned group activities and enjoyed each others company. He would come to campus and we would sit and talk. One of the teachers here said he knew it was serious since we were sitting at the picnic table in the freezing cold weather! What a wonderful time we had enjoying hearing stories of how we grew up and why we believed what we did. Since it was very cold out I made muffins and hot chocolate for us! Scott was very grateful! If any of you know Scott, he does not like the cold weather.
Our once a week turned into like twice or more a week. I went home for Easter in April and my parents invited Scott to come too so they could meet him. We sought council and did leave together in a car to go to my parents because it was 2 hours away. We had an accountability partner, my pastor. He encouraged us to leave during the day, to call him when we left and call when we arrive. There is a family who attends my church and does not live too far from my parents and allowed Scott to stay there. What a blessing that was! My family did not understand, but I knew it was the right thing to do!! :) So, my family had the chance to meet him and so did my church family. I am so thankful for my home church! They are like another family to me! Everyone enjoyed meeting Scott!
At the end of May we took another trip to Dowagiac to see my family. Scott had planned a trip to Chicago. He asked if I had ever been and wanted to show me around. We had a wonderful time. I would have never guessed that he was going to propose to me there! I knew he wanted to marry me I just wasn't sure when he was going to ask. After exiting the Aquarium because I was feeling dizzy and sick because it was so warm, we took a walk. We strolled down Lake Michigan with the sky line of Chicago in view. It was a gorgeous day! The weather was perfect! :) I had just commented on what a beautiful view it was when I received a tap on the shoulder. I turned around and there was Scott down on one knee! I still remember what he said like it was yesterday, " Jenny Marie Simpson, I love you very much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?" To which I replied....yes!!  What a wonderful day to remember! I prayed daily through out our dating/ courting period, that if he wasn't the right one that the Lord would let me know. I had peace about it!
When talking about when to get married and all the details that are involved there, we decided that summer. School started in August and it would be a really long time to wait till next summer so we set our date for August. I married my best friend on August 3, 2012. I love that man so much! The wedding was beautiful! It was even more beautiful because we were both pure! We saved our selves for the one who God had for us to marry!  Our relationship is growing...my love for him is growing too! Sure we have our troubles but it all works out in the end. For our honey moon we went up north and stayed for a week in St. Ignace, it was beautiful! :) While there we also went to  Mackinac Island.
Scott was also offered a job here at the school teaching. He has grades 4-6th and he does a wonderful job! In addition to teaching kindergarten I have Jr. high devotions and 7-12 grade girls gym. It has been a wonderful school year so far. I am thankful for each one that the Lord has given to me!!

Have a wonderful day serving our Lord!! :)

Am I thinking before I speak?

I have had the privelage of talking to my jr. high girls about our speech. What is your speech like? How do you talk to others? Are you building up people? Does your speech tear people down? Do the things you say bring glory to the Lord?

Proverbs 31:26

" She openeth her mouth with wisdom: and in her tongue is the law of kindness." The Proverbs 31 woman thinks before she speaks. She doesn't just blurt out the first thing that comes to her mind. Even when people are unkind to us, we need to be kind to them. Are you being kind with the things you say?

Ephesians 4:32

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Are you being kind one to another? Are you treated them as Christ would? Are we quick to forgive those who are unkind?

Psalm 19:14

"Let the words of my mouth.... be acceptable in thy sight..." Are you words, the things you say to others, are they acceptable to the Lord? Do they bring glory to His name?

Before you Speak:

THINK!

T- Is is true?

H- Is it helpful?

I- Is is inspiring?

N-Is it necessary?

K-Is it kind?

I know, it has been a really long time since I have posted. A lot has happened since I last posted. Things are going great and God is so good! I am no longer teaching at the school in northern Michigan. I enjoyed my two years there and all the relationships that were made. I loved my church family too. I am very thankful for all of the things I was able to learn from my time there.

However, I felt the Lord had something else for me. In June I resigned from that teaching position. I prayed about going to another school in Southwestern Michigan. The Lord made it very clear to me, that that was where He wanted me to go. I moved in the end of July. I have had a great year! I teach kindergarten all day on Mon., Wed., and Fri. I have a wonderful class...4 girls and 1 boy. The Lord is so good! This school is an ACE school. (Accelerated Christian Education) So, on the days that I am not teaching kindergarten, I help in the learning center. I also have the privilege of teaching the junior high girls devotions class. That is every Tuesday and Thursday. It has been a blessing! I am thankful for each one that the Lord has blessed me with!

I am going to try my best :) to blog at least once a week. There is so much that the Lord does for me daily!! I want to be a blessing to you, so I will try to share weekly.

It's Through The Blood

I heard this song recently, on a CD and is a new favorite. It has amazing words! I hope it encourages you like it did me!

It's Through The Blood

When I think of heaven and all the sights I'll see:

The walls of jasper, gates of pearl, the clear and golden street.

Why should I be present?

Why should I enter in?

After all the sinful living, and the wicked one I've been.

In the presence of Jehovah, as I stand before the throne.

The accuser of the brethren, starts to read the things I've done.

As I hear the awful charges, the question fills my mind.

Why should I not be put in hell to suffer for all time?

It's through the blood, that's all I have to plea.

It's through the blood, that Jesus shed for me.

Not by works of my own righteousness, for filthy rags are they.

But because of that old rugged tree, hanging on dark Calvary.

That is my only plea, is through the blood.

When I am walking through a valley and I feel there's no way out.

When the winds of sorrow threaten me and turn my world around.

That is when I look to Jesus and the price He paid of me.

I can lift my hands in praise to Him and shout the victory.

It's through the blood, that's all I have to plea.

It's through the blood, that Jesus shed for me.

Not by works of my own righteousness, for filthy rags are they.

But because of that old rugged tree, hanging on dark Calvary.

That is my only plea, is through the blood.

Summer!!!!!!!

I know it has been a long time....where to start?
School finished well, I enjoyed my class a lot! I am looking forward to the new school year! As for the summer I am babysitting, cleaning a house...doing whatever I am asked. It is amazing to watch the Lord provide! He promised He would- Phil. 4:19.

May 27-June 5 I went and visited my home church in Dowagiac Mi. It was a blessing to be with them again! I had a nice time visiting with everyone. I learned how to make very cool folded cards from Candy...(I will post pics later) I also had the opp. to see some of my family. Continue to pray for their salvation. On Friday the couple from my church up north came down stayed the night and we went to Shipshewana on Saturday. It was so much fun...despite the rain. I got an amazing black and white picture for my house with a verse on it (pics to come). It was a great trip.

June 7-11 I had the opp. to babysit the whole week. Our youth pastor Jon and his wife Jami and Lil Joel took our teens to camp. They have a sweet Lil girl who is 2 and I had the privilege of watching Jalyn for the whole week. It was so much fun!!! I made a lot of memories with her and laughed a lot! I did not remember to bring my camera...so I only have pics on my phone....so no pics of that week.

At the moment I am in the wonderful state of Louisiana! I arrived yesterday early in the am. It is so nice and warm here...I love it! I am visiting my friend Clarissa from camp. (and yes I remembered my camera) I am here for a week. My flight here was horrible but the Lord protected and kept me safe. There was a lot of severe thunderstorms in Atlanta so my flight from Flint to Atlanta was delayed. I was suppose to fly out at 5:30pm...didn't leave till around 9. My next flight only had a 30 min layover...which meant I had already missed the next one. However to my surprise...it was delayed too! My flight from Atlanta to Dallas FINALLY started boarding at 12:30am....I arrived in Dallas at 2:30am. I was very tired. So happy to see Clarissa and her mom!!! Then we had 3 hrs from there to get to her house in Louisiana. Drum roll please....I arrived at 5:30am....what a night!! Guess what I did???? Went to sleep! I will post pics later!!

God Gives His Grace

Psalm 30:5
"...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
"The pain that you feel seems will never end. That this is the will of God seems so hard to comprehend. But God has chosen you to suffer in this way. So that he gets the glory as you go fom day to day.
He may not send the healing now but He will give you the grace. Suffiecient to stand the trial that you will face. You may weep all night long but joy comes in its place. While you wait for His healing, God gives you His grace.
There are so many lives you've inspired on your way. Now their watching you to see just how you'll live from day to day. Will you serve God for not they'll see as they look you in the face. Will they see the light in your eyes revealing God's amazing grace?
He may not send the healing now but He will give you the grace. Sufficient to stand the trial that you will face. You may weep all night long but joy comes in its place. While you wait for His healing, God gives you His grace."
11 Corinthians 12:9
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therfore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasur in infirmites, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

I'm Amazed!!!!

"In God's heart theirs a place that only I can fill. I find amazing grace when I'm found within His will. He's reserved a sacred place where we can spend the day. He's waiting there for me inviting me to stay.
Everyday I'm amazed that God would spend the day with me. I'm overwhelmed by His grace that He would feel such love for me. To Him I'm worth saving and my heart is craving: to know
Him in His righteousness and understand His ways. Everyday in every way I'm amazed.
In my heart theirs a place that only God can fill. He covers my disgrace with the blood that Jesus spilt. He invites me to a place. Where we can spend the day. He's waiting there for me inviting me to stay.
Everyday I'm amazed that God would spend the day with me. I'm overwhelmed by His grace that He would feel such love for me. To Him I'm worth saving and my heart is craving: to know Him in His righteousness and understand His ways.
Everyday in ever way I'm amazed, I'm overwhelmed that He would feel such love for me. To Him I'm worth saving and my heart is craving to know Him in His righteousness and understand His ways."
In everyday in every way I'm amazed!!!
I have been very overwhelmed by the Lord and all that He continues to teach me. What an amazing thought that God would spend the day with me! He promises to never leave me nor forsake me!
"...for he hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."
Hebrews 13:5

mountains shake with the swelling thereof."

How can a Christian draw closer to the Lord?

Pastor Hansen spoke on this.....very encouraging!!

Conversations with the Sander Kiddos

I was going shopping yesterday with Jake and Ruth and kiddos. As we were headed to Houghton Lake (30mins away), I realized I had forgotten my purse. Well...instead of going shopping I will just enjoy the fun fellowship with them. Oh, just so you know, Cara just turned 5, Desirae will be 4 next week and Tyler is 2. Anyway, here are some of the conversations we had:

Desirae: Miss Jenny, are you old enough to have your own gum?
Me: Yup
Desirae: Oh...How much gum can you have?
Me: How much ever is in the pack
Desirae: Oh...
Cara: Oh yeah because you are a 4 and a 2.
Me: What? How old am I Cara?
Cara: That's right you're 40...I mean 42.
Me: Really??? No silly...I am 24...change the numbers around.
Cara: That's old!!!

It is dark as we are traveling back at night.

Tyler: Miss Jenny I can't see you....
Me: That is because it is dark out. I am right here Tyler.
Tyler: Hey Miss Jenny! If you walk in da wada you fall in da wada.
Me: Really?
Tyler: Yeah, be carfo
Me: Ok...I will

Tyler (shouting): Miss Jenny I can't see you!!!!!
Me: I am right here Tyler...watch as that car passes then you can see me.
Tyler: K....I see you!!!
Me: Yeah...isn't that cool!!

Me: Tyler....where are you???? I can't see you...Tyler!!!
Tyler...shh I here Miss Jenny...I here. See me?

Tyler: Miss Jenny!!!!!! Look...I see da hang mail moon.
Me: You do? Where? That is not a hang nail moon...that is a banana moon.
Cara: No, it is none of those. It is a fingernail moon.

These kids are so much fun!! I love them...they keep me laughing.

Well...today was a half day and I was very excited that my kids finished all of their work. Praise the Lord!!! One of the students in my class is the the niece to the people I rent from. Anyway, since Aunt Emily could not have Abby over and her sister went to someones. She asked if she could come to my house. How could I say no?? I wasn't going anywhere. So, Abby came over for the afternoon. I told her that she should feel special because she is the first person to come and see me. Other plans that I had of having company fell through. She thought that was cool. I told her usually I would just have a sandwich for lunch but since I had a special guest I would make lunch for her. We had pasta, chicken nuggets (kids favorite) and Pineapple. After lunch we played UNO for quite a while. It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed having her.

Things have been a little busy around here! My grandpa passed away on new years day so I was gone for about a week. It was a hard one because I do not believe he was saved. Despite the circumstances of going to my home town, I was very glad to see my church family. I have missed them a lot. It was nice to see them. Thank you Pastor Stacey and Mrs. Wilder for allowing me to stay with you! It is only about four hours from here and coming back it took us about 10 because the roads were so bad! Praise the Lord that we made it safely. I returned to school that Friday-Jan.8th. I was very glad to be back. I missed the kids, I had not seen them since before Christmas break.

Last week was a good week of school despite the illnesses. We had the flu and strep going around. Monday we had 7 kids and 2 teachers out sick. Since there were that many, we did not have school on Tuesday. Praise the Lord I have been healthy. On Friday 2 of the little boys at our school accepted the Lord as their Savior!!! Praise the Lord! That made for a great week!!!!! Also, I heard from the Peppels and their youngest son Micah also accepted the Lord as his Savior! What wonderful news!!

On Thursday the church had a housewarming shower for me. That was a blessing. The Lord provided some things that I needed! I am thankful for them! It is neat to continue to watch the Lord provide. Why wouldn't He??? He promises to: Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your needs..." What a wonderful promise!

This weekend I was able to make some apple cinnamon muffins and some apple banana bread in my new lil' oven. Very fun! They taste amazing if I must say so myself and I must!!!

Today, I really enjoyed the message...it was just what I needed! After church I went to the Sander's and had a great time. I am very thankful for them!

Desirae, Tyler and Cara

Tomorrow is a teacher in service day. We are going up to Kinross, Michigan and attending a teacher's conference. I am really looking forward to! (even though we have to meet at 6:30am) It will be my first one and I am sure it will be very beneficial.

Nothing Let But God

I was walking at camp one day and I found this laying on the ground. I came across it again today and it was encouraging. It is a page out of the daily bread that someone cut out and pasted on a notecard that I had the privelage of finding. I am so thankful that I have the LORD!! HE IS ENOUGH FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Nothing Left But God"
"A wise Bible teacher once said, 'Sooner or later God will bring self-sufficient people to the place where they have no resource but Him: no strength, no answers, nothing but Him. Without God's help they are sunk.' He then told of a desparing man who confessed to his pastor, 'My life is really in bad shape, ' 'How bad?' the pastor inquired. Burying his head in to hands, he moaned, 'I'll tell you how bad-all I've got left is God.' The Pastor's face lit up. 'I'm happy to assure you that a person with nothing left but God has more than enough for great victory!'
Read 11 Corinthians 20:1-17
"In today's Bible reading, the people of Judah were also in trouble. They admited their lack of power and wisdom to conquer their foes. All they had left was God! But King Jehoshaphat and the people saw this as reason for hope, not despair. 'Our eyes are upon You,' they declared to God (2 Cor. 20:12). And their hope was not disappointed as He fulfilled His promise: 'The battle is not yours, but God's." (v.15)
"Are you in a position where all sufficiency is gone? As you turn your eyes on the Lord and put your hope in Him, you have God's reassuring promise that you need nothing more." -JEY
When God is all you've got, you've got more than enough.

Just thought I would give a quick update.I am not at camp anymore...no worries...I left on good terms. Mr. Kahl the director was willing to let me leave my internship early. For those of you who do not know, I was offerd a teaching job at Immanuel Christian School (I have been attending this church). I prayed about it and accepted. My first week was Nov.30-Dec.4. They have half days every friday. It went very well. I teach 4th and 5th grade. In the morning I teach spelling, literature, reading, math and penmanship. In the afternoon I have 1 3rd grader who comes down to my class. In the afternoons depending on the day I teach: Bible, history, science, health and every Friday I teach gym. They do not do paces here, I actually get to teach them!!!It has been amazing!!! I have 5 Students. They are so much fun! They keep me going! Full of lots of energy On Dec. 5th I was able to move into my apt. A couple from the church-Josh and Emily have an apt in their garage. Some people from the church spent a lot of time fixing it up. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!! I love it! The Lord is good and I am thankful for what He has provided. Dec. 7-11th was a fun week too. Monday was a full day. Then on Tuesday we had a field trip and went to Bronners (the worlds largest Christmas store-located in Frankenmuth MI). We had a snow day wed and thurs and Fri was a half day! Then we come to the week of the 14th-18. This was their last week of school b4 break. We had a full day Monday and half days through Friday. We had a Christmas party and it was lots of fun! I told them the legend of the Candy Cane, we made gingerbread manger scence...lots of fun! We are off for 2 weeks and then I return on Jan. 4th. I am getting setteld in. It is neat to watch the Lord provide! I will post pictures soon!!!
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!
